Itinerary:

From the moment your tour starts, your guide will give you full attention. Today, all visits are in Wadi El Ryan, designated as Protected Area in 1989. On the way to Wadi El Rayan Water Falls, visit Mudawara Mountain. Wadi El Rayan is a natural manmade depression located in the western desert, Wadi Rayan consists of two lakes connected by Egypt’s only waterfalls, formed in 1970 by an overflow of drainage water from the farmlands in Fayoum.

Watch some of the stunning birds that thrive at the edge of the salty lake Qaron, from black-necked grebes to ibis and flamingos. Then take a scenic trip on a felucca, a wooden sailing boat with an elegant, gaff-rigged sail.

Continue to the local museum to see stunning examples of Fayoum’s mummy portraits, cloth panel paintings with distinctive Greco-Roman influence.
