This morning, your private guide will pick up you for a full day tour of the pyramids at Giza and Saqqara. Start in chronological order, as it were, by visiting the step pyramid of Saqqara; the 1st ever pyramid built in the history of the mankind “Zoser Pyramid”4800 B.c, built by King Djoser, and then a quick visit to the Carpet School.
Then you will be driven to visit the ancient capital city of Memphis located about 24 kilometers south of Cairo. Memphis which was founded by King Menes, and was the capital of Egypt during the Old Kingdom. It was considered to be a center of rule and culture for over 3,000 years and was the first capital of Egypt. Though little remains of this pharaonic city, the open air museum here is worth a visit. See the huge fallen image of Ramesses II, which is 16 meters high and the great Alabaster Sphinx of Queen Hatshepsut at the museum.
Stop for lunch break (drinks not included) then, continue visiting the Giza Plateau to explore the world famous pyramids of Cheops, Chephren, Mycrenos and Sphinx; these structures that have stood tall for 4500 years. Discover the beauty of the Sphinx, one of the largest monolith statues in the history of mankind, enjoy the views and take remarkable pictures. At the end of the day, drive back to your hotel in Cairo or Giza
Day 2: Egyptian Museum, Old Cairo, Khan Al Khalili or Cairo Citadel
Take your breakfast, then, start at 8:30 am your day tour to the Egyptian Museum; home to the fantastic Tutankhamun exhibit, see his golden mask and many of the New Kingdom royal mummies, lose yourself in the many rooms and galleries full of thousands of artifacts.
Cairo’s Khan al-Khalili Bazaar is an essential Egyptian experience – lose yourself in the colors and aromas of this fascinating marketplace or have a chance to visit the famous Alabaster Mosque of Mohamed Ali Pasha At Salah Al Din Citadel. (you need to choose either Khan Al Khalil Bazaars or The Citadel)
Have lunch at a local restaurant (drinks not included) before exploring some of the most famous churches in Cairo. Travel to the Hanging Church and the Church of St. George the Martyr. Both these churches were built into the walls of the Babylon Fortress and their remains could be Cairo’s oldest structures. Visit the Church of St Sergius next before driving back to your hotel.
Day3: Alexandria Day Trip from Cairo
Start with early morning pick-up at 6:30 am for a full day tour to Alexandria from Cairo, arrive at 9:30 am . Tour Alexandria’s most significant and fascinating spots with your private tour guide. See the Greek and Roman masterpieces ruins at the National Museum, descend into the Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa, with the beautiful artworks, visit the Roman Theater, take in views from the 15-century fortifications at the Citadel of Qaitbay. Explore the New Alexandria library at your own pace. Drive Back in comfort to your hotel in Cairo for overnight.
